World Health Organization Conditions approved for treatment by Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Herbology
The relationship between the gut and brain is a profound one. It has become well known and researched in recent years. The digestive system is the engine of the body and when it is out of balance the whole body can be off. Similarly a car engine that is well fed and maintained, will perform well. When our "internal engine" is fine tuned and functional our whole body functions better!
When there is disharmony in our "internal engine" we can suffer from symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, moodiness, inflammation, memory issues, poor sleep, gut issues and more.
Natural improvement of digestive conditions by harmonizing the root issues for long-term relief.
Crohn's disease
A 54-year-old manager complained of Crohn’s disease for 6 years. He had frequent loose stools, pain with small amounts of mucus and blood. During flare-ups, he reported as many as 7 episodes/day of bowel movements with mucus and blood. After his first 4 treatments started, he reported 2-3 BM’s per day. He received 12 weekly treatments and then occasional tune-ups at longer intervals. He stated he was much improved after his acupuncture care. He uses herbs for continued care.
We have epidemic levels of pain and inflammation in this country. Natural approaches to pain reduction give long-term relief from both chronic and acute pain.
Regardless of where the pain is in the body, Integrated Medicine can help to reduce and reverse the pain using functional medicine, natural supplements and oriental medicine. Dr. Florida has 1000's of stories of patients with level 20/10 pain completing a treatment series and going back to regular activities such as exercise, walking, hobbies and so much more. Did we mention Migraines and Headaches? Thousands of patients have long term relief from a life time of chronic migraines and headaches. 50% of all patients with knee or back surgery have continued pain through-out life. Wouldn't it be nice to reduce or even mostly eliminate that pain in Southwest Houston.
Neck and Shoulder pain
A 34-year-old lawyer complained of muscle spasms of the neck and shoulders for 14 years. The pain was severe, stabbing, "like a knife", occurring every day. It was worse with stress.. She also complained of jaw pain, irritability, bloating, fatigue, and poor sleep even with sleep medication.
We began her acupuncture care with 8 weekly sessions, and then changed to longer intervals. She reported 60% improvement after 4 sessions and 80% improvement after 7 sessions.
Hip/ Sciatica pain
A 68 year old woman barber, healthy and active, complained of left hip pain for 10 years. She needed assistance with a cane when she first came in. She described the pain as a deep, strong ache that came and went. The patient rated her pain as 10+/10 on a pain scale from 0-10. It radiated from outer to inner thigh. It was worse at night, interfering with sleep, and with periods of inactivity. As her pain worsened, the patient had to discontinue many other normal activities.
Hip/ Sciatica pain treatment & Outcome
Treatment for this patient was 22 acupuncture sessions with cupping, herbs and tui na. The patient reported good pain relief after each session, with pain remaining on the scale about 3-4/10. As the pain subsided after treatments she was able to walk for longer without assistance. After all her sessions she was walking with low pain of 1/10 and without assistance. Her children had not seen her for a while cried when they saw her walking normally.
Migraine Headaches Treatment and Outcome
A 32-year-old school teacher complained of severe migraines for 15 years. She described her pain as "debilitating pounding headaches", worse with her period, light, noise and was accompanied by nausea. After 14 weekly sessions, Her migraines reduced from being severe for 1.5 weeks before her period to having only a mild headache for a few hours one time per month. With further treatments we were able to reduce the headaches to only occasional.
